Got Glove?

Take a look at my gloves section of the BabyPop Store. In case you did not know it I make "Adult" Gloves some are mature subjects 30+ designs and for you not the kids. They will make you smile take a look.

You ask why? Because I make capes and kids stuff all the time. The gloves are my mental break and they are just plain fun to design. I love putting ideas on gloves. I actually have a sketch book filled with more ideas.

The Pac Man gloves were choose by Dazed & Confused Magazine in 2007 (a British Mag... and no it is not about smoke the wacky tobacie) to represent etsy for there "The Dazed Digital 50" which was the 50 new best sites.

Here are some of my favorites:

I tend to be a little accident prone...ok lets say I have stock in Band Aids. The blood is offered at no extra charge

I designed these on a particular hard day with the kids...this glove has plastic on it with seed bead to show salt... shots any one?

Fun Statements this week:

The Disney Princess song comes on the radio ...Nat King Cole is sing..When you wish upon a Star.
My daughter ask "Mommy is this God singing?"
me..."Well no..." stumped think quickly Sher I say to myself "but Yes if you consider who gave him his Voice"
DD said "Then it is God and is he alive?"
me.. "are you asking Nat or God?...No/yes? "
DD " So I can see him in Church"
me " Yes lets listen to the princess song, Peanut"

If this is 3... I am concerned for age 5

Another remark this week from a neighbor boy as we walked home from school
He just informed his mom I passed his 2nd grade spelling test. Then he say ..."So Mom I think I am done with school... I don't have to go back tomorrow."

Logical thought I thought.

My Favorite Holiday-Smiles for All

So Halloween came and left.

Out of all the holiday Halloween in my Favorite. It is the perfect Holiday Because every one is happy. Here are my reasons:

  1. The Kids Love It- candy and dress up... what could be bad from there point of view

  2. No Homework- Teachers spare the parents from fighting with the kids to get it done

  3. Older people with out kids have the joy of having complete strangers come to there door and they are happy to see them.

  4. Smiles all around Parents love watching the excitement of there kids and reminisce of their childhoods

  5. Low cost you don't go into debt for Halloween- some costumes and candy. Homemade costumes are given there props.

  6. No major family commitments hopefully.

  7. No clean house required.

  8. No holiday let down like after Christmas because you still have Christmas and thanksgiving

I Made both the kids costumes this year which was nice. My son has wanted store bought since he was 4 so it was nice to make his this year he was a Bat. I made wings and stuffed them for the bones in the wings and sewn them on to the tee.

My daughter wanted to be a butterfly princess. So I started with the wings I found them at a rite aid i was going to make them there is actually videos on utube how to do it. Then I found the great fabric at JoAnns. So I started sewing Thurs night at 9:00 and finish at 3:00 am. (the cape was made quickly in about 1/2 hour in he morning) I used a store bought pattern for the top part of the dress (sleeping beauty wedding dress) which i put a velour back on so she could use the dress for play. (last year she never worn the dress again because she could not get in it on her own.) Then I drafted a bottom since i wanted it 2 layers and wanted a com bind affect. I also drafted the cape. I added slits so the wings could show while being worn. I made a tutu crinoline for under the dress for the puff affect. The front of the skirt was cut on the bias and grew all day. So by nighttime I sewn the hem just to get it out of the way. Tim Gun would have not be proud.

True or False It Never Snows Prior to Halloween in Philly

TRUE

Since I moved to the Philadelphia Area 5 years ago (from Florida) it have never snowed prior to Halloween (actually it hardly ever snows during the winter). Which upsets my husband who hell bent on getting a snow blower.. I keep saying we need it to blow the mud that occurs every winter???. I think I can count how many times the snow has come on 2 hands.

Well it snowed on Tues Oct 28th...Take a look! My DD kept on trying asking to go outside an play in the snow. I caught a few on my tongue. It melted as soon as it hit.
Oh yea the world series was delayed for weather the night before... by the way the Phillie's Won.
